Pre-launch
Pre-sale
Rift of Redemption is now on Amazon as a pre-release until June 4, 2025, the full day of publication on Amazon. With everything in motion now, the marketing campaign is underway.
Marketing
From all the YouTube videos I have watched and blog articles I have read, I have come to the understanding that first, you shouldn’t bet everything on. As an indie author, most articles and groups I am in point out that the first book is most likely not the one that makes you the money. It is consent publishing and a series.. My plan for market is
- Interviews with local papers
- Constant talk about the launch on social media, with reels being the best choice
- Podcast interviews
- ARC (advance reader Copy) candidates
- Newsletter (storyOrigin)
- ADs
Interviews with the local paper
I am going to work with the people in my writer’s guild. To see if I can find some local papers who would like to interview me. I know the local one in my area is very supportive of local people. So, with the writer’s group help, I am most likely to get an interview. I will research if any other local papers or websites might like to interview me.
Social Media
With my certification in social media for business, I am going to start posting reels and short videos about what the book is about. I am also going to have more posts in the next three months about the launch date and other stuff about the book. three weeks to the launch date, I plan to tag friends in my accounts. To see if they will share the posts.
Reels
For videos, I am going to try to post things relevant to the books. Such as books similar to mine and then key things about my book that might catch people’s attention. With links to Amazon on every post. If I have interviews or podcasts related to the book, I will post links to all of them on social media with Reels to
Podcast Interviews
I am researching what podcasts in my area or that cover indie authors and just books will let me have an interview. I have social media groups that cover podcast interviews. There are lots of podcasts, and some that need interviews to move forward. So they may be eager to have interviews. You just have to find them.
ARC (Advance Reader Copys)
I am hooking up with Booksprout 4 -3 weeks before the launch day to put my book up for people to read and possibly leave a review. It has been proven by ALLi and Kindlepreneur book reviews are a big plus in being on top of Amazon’s search engine. This means I have to have all editing and changes in the format of the ebook set and done with before that time so that they can get good reviews
Newsletter (StoryOrigin)
Out of all my research newsletters, it is a must for better sales and a better way for indie authors to keep in touch with their loyal customers. This is so if you get kicked off of Amazon or other companies that publish bankrupt. You can still be in touch.
Out of all the research, I decided on StoryOrigin because of their price and options provided. In all the YouTube videos and articles, it is a little cheaper and has a few more options than Bookfunnel. I will pay for that soon and set up my followers’ campaign two months before the launch date or sooner. This might give me a chance to get more reviews in total and possibly more sales in total.
ADs
The plan is to set up ads on Facebook. On a low budget, this is my last resort and may not happen at all because of the cost. This is most likely to happen in the post-launch stage to keep the sales coming if possible. From all the research, Facebook and Amazon ads are coin toss on what works for who. But you have to try them and see how it goes. Price will be my biggest pointer, and Amazon might be the cheapest and most effective for now, especially if I get reviews. So reviews are the biggest thing I am looking for.
Results
I will post all results and what I have learned from the launch. I will point out that there are resources I have used to get to this point, and here are the links to those resources to help you on your campaign of pre-launch if you want to become an indie author yourself
